Seminar "ERA-GLONASS: From a Rescue System to Service Markets" took place at Crocus Expo on November 1, 2013.

Seminar "ERA-GLONASS: From a Rescue System to Service Markets" took place at Crocus Expo  on November 1, 2013. The seminar was organized by the Non-commercial Partnership for Development and Use of Navigation Technologies (NP "GLONASS") - federal network operator in the field of navigation activities. 

The event was opened by Alexei S. Tsydenov, the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, with his speech "Status of Building the ERA-GLONASS System".
In his speech Alexei Sambuevich mentioned the importance of the ERA-GLONASS System for both the promotion of road traffic safety and the development of innovative technologies. In his opinion, putting the accident emergency response system into operation will allow reducing road traffic mortality by 4,000 people annually. He informed that the similar accident response system "E-call" was also being created in the United States of America, Brazil and in the a number of European countries.

"The availability of the Russian accident emergency response system is at very high level being ahead of all world analogues," Alexei Sambuevich said. "In 2012 they created a prototype of the ERA-GLONASS System that will be put into operation in December this year." The time of the project creation in our country is 3 years and 7 months. At the same  time the preliminary design work was started in 2010, and the engineering design - in 2011.

• Representatives of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan - member states of the Customs Union
• Representatives of Russian and foreign state organizations and agencies responsible for developing and implementing state policies in the field of navigation activities and transport safety promotion
• Automobile manufacturers
• Communications operators
• Automotive equipment developers and manufacturers
• Information & navigation and telecommunications service providers
• Russian and foreign experts

The seminar attendees were informed about the implementation progress of the project on creating ERA-GLONASS accident emergency response system in the Russian Federation, tryout of the interaction with the 112 System and emergency services, harmonization of the Russian system with the eCall System, readiness of equipment and automobile manufacturers to fulfill requirements of the ERA-GLONASS System, opportunity to use the ERA-GLONASS System for modernizing the transport system and developing the market of navigation and information services.  

The total number of 153 companies from 11 countries (Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany, Finland, France, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Russia) participated in the seminar.
