On September 26, 2013 in Kazan Erik Weihenmayer, invited by Volgo-Vyatskiy Bank of Sberbank of Russia, delivered his lecture “Success Philosophy: Overcoming the Impossible” to owners of the largest businesses in Volgo-Vyatskiy Region, as well as to representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event was organized with the assistance of Professional Conferences.

The opening speeches were delivered to the attendees by the first persons of the republic, such as the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnkhanov, Chairman of Volgo-Vyatskiy Bank Sergei Maltsev, Chairman of the Bank of Tatarstan Rushan Sakhbiev.

Erik Weihenmayer is the only blind man in history who climbed the tallest peak on each of the seven continents completing the complicated and prestigious mountaineering program “the Seven Summits of the World”. Besides him the program was completed by only around a hundred physically healthy mountaineers.

Erik's speaking career has taken him around the world, from Hong Kong to Switzerland, from Thailand to the 2005 APEC Summit in Chile where he shared the speaking platform with notables like: President George W. Bush, Al Gore, Tony Blair, Colin Powell, General Norman Schwarzkopf, Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Tom Peters, Marcus Buckingham, Stephen Covey. He has also delivered speeches to such companies as Apple, at&t, P&G, American Express, Pepsi, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Google, Pfizer, Microsoft, CISCO, Motorola, Walmart and GE.

With his speeches Erik shows to people that the goals, which seem to be unrealizable at the first sight, are actually quite realizable.

Over the years of training and climbing he has gained great popularity and acknowledgement in the world. In 1996 Erik Weihenmayer was honored by carrying the Olympic Torch through Phoenix and later was selected for the first annual Distinguished Arizonan Award. His success stories appeared in such publications as “TIME”, “New York Times” and many others.
